pARTner schools

pARTner Schools throughout Minnesota have the goals of:

  • improving teaching and learning in Minnesota schools through the arts
  • building regional bases of professional development

Each pARTner School program varies in design, structure and arts area focus, but most share enhanced arts curricula providing both disciplinary and interdisciplinary learning experiences for all students and educators. pARTner Schools integrate curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. All build on individual community and school strengths and resources.

pARTner Schools are taking steps to integrate the FACS (Frameworks for Arts Curriculum Strategies) and Graduation Standards into their school programs. Many also have open invitations to educators across Minnesota to participate in ongoing professional development workshops or to share learning experiences - practitioner to practitioner.

Each pARTner School is taking initial steps to build stronger bases of support in their respective schools or communities. They have expanded their existing programs through networking and professional development opportunities. Through these programs educators throughout Minnesota have opportunities to share learning in community & the arts, the Minnesota Arts Standards, innovative practices such as multicultural or interdisciplinary approaches, and more!
