Music and Art in Cultural Context:
Implementing the Revised Arts Standards with Artistry and Respect

February 3 - 4 2012

Registrations due January 20, 2012

Through interactive experiences, model lessons, and a concert, this workshop will encourage teachers to increase their own knowledge of Minnesota American Indian tribes and communities, as well as provide resources for use in the K-12 music and art classrooms. By focusing on responding to art and music, teachers will experience protocols and processes that can be used with students as well. Learning will be targeted toward music and visual arts teachers, although all content area teachers will benefit from this workshop. This presentation will build on past workshops; however, teachers who are new to this process, as well as those who have attended past workshops, are welcome. New content will be presented.
